Production and Material

PRODUCTION

Melissa shoes are exclusively manufactured in Brazil by Grendene, a renowned global giant in synthetic footwear production with over four decades of expertise.

But what exactly are these jelly shoes made of?

MELFLEX®

The primary material used in crafting Melissa shoes is MELFLEX®, a distinctive PVC variant. MELFLEX® is not only 100% recyclable but also boasts flexibility, durability, and comfort. Notably, Melissa products are entirely free from any components of animal origin, and the entire production process is committed to avoiding animal testing. The iconic jelly shoes from Melissa have earned official recognition as vegan-friendly by The Original Vegan Society.

EVA

Melissa offers a range of shoes crafted from EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate), a sustainable material derived from sugar canes. EVA is celebrated for its eco-friendly attributes, as it is made from renewable resources and has a lower environmental impact compared to traditional materials. By utilizing sugar cane as a source, Melissa contributes to the reduction of reliance on fossil fuels and supports a more sustainable and responsible approach to footwear production.
